Charter Communications Expands Relationship with Yellowbook
ST. LOUIS, Mar 09, 2009 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Charter Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ: CHTR) announced today an agreement to make Yellowbook the exclusive provider of local business search information on Charter.net, the website designed for the company's high-speed Internet customers.
This agreement is an extension of a co-marketing and distribution relationship formed in 2007. Since then, Charter and Yellowbook have been co-marketing products and services through a variety of sales channels. Through these efforts, awareness of Charter's residential and commercial telephone business has dramatically increased and Yellowbook has provided additional benefits to directory users and advertisers. Charter now serves more than 1.3 million telephone customers, and its commercial revenues increased significantly year over year, thanks in large part to the ability to bundle telephone with high-speed Internet and video services.
As a part of this new agreement, Charter.net users are now able to access local business information provided through Yellowbook by simply clicking on the Yellowbook search tab at www.charter.net.
"Charter is always looking for ways to enhance our customers' experience and to provide them with additional value," said Rich DiGeronimo, Charter's Vice President of Product Management. "Charter.net provides our customers access to a wide variety of local and national news, information and video, and the incredible depth of content available on yellowbook.com complements the resources on our site."
"Providing new and unique ways to help consumers easily find local business information is important to us," added Pat Marshall, Chief New Media Officer at Yellowbook. "Not only does this agreement make vital local business information readily available to Charter.net users, but it also increases the opportunities for our advertisers to generate additional exposure for their products and services."
