A Day of Charity Will Take Place Nov. 10 at the
                     Alhambra Edwards Renaissance

Charter Communications (Nasdaq:CHTR) has partnered with the Edwards Renaissance Theatre in Alhambra, Calif. to host a Silver Ribbon Charity Day on Sunday, Nov. 10, 2002. Between noon and 8 p.m., all movies will be shown for $1 and popcorn and soda will be sold for 50 cents each. All concession sales will be donated to mental health research.

"It is gratifying to find organizations such as Edwards Renaissance and Charter Communications that are willing to bring to light and support such an important issue that affects more than 500 million people worldwide," said Chris Higgins, Account Executive for Charter Media. "I have been actively supporting Mental Health Research and helping to stop the stigma associated with mental illness for over 10 years. My late father, a Wharton graduate, voted most likely to succeed in high school, was first diagnosed with schizophrenia when he was 28. Thanks to Charter's support, I was able to work with Edwards Renaissance to produce an event that raises awareness in this community. I am proud to work for a company like Charter that has donated more than $200,000 in cable advertising and promotions for this event."

The public is invited to participate in the Charity Day. A brief program will take place at 2 p.m. in which attendees will learn more about the charities and get the chance to meet Arnold, the main character from Nickelodeon's popular "Hey Arnold!" at the theatre's lobby. Arnold will be available to greet and meet families between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m.

Charter Communications has also produced three commercials that talk about the stigma associated with Mental Illness. In addition, Glendale Galleria Mall and Ed Butts Ford are distributing more than 5,000 tickets to the event.

The Mental Health organizations that will benefit from the event are the Silver Ribbon Campaign for the Brain, the National Alliance for Research on Schizophrenia and Depression (NARSAD), The National Alliance for the Mentally Ill (NAMI), and the University of California at Irvine's Brain Imaging Center.
