Charter Names Barry L. Wilson Senior Vice President/GM; David L. Gilles, Vice President/GM for St. Louis Metro Operations
ST. LOUIS, Missouri -- The appointment of Barry L. Wilson to Senior Vice President/General Manager of Operations for St. Louis Metro operations of Charter Communications, Inc. (Nasdaq:CHTR) was announced today by Lee A. Clayton, Senior Vice President of Operations for Charter's Midwest Division.
In making the announcement, Ms. Clayton said, “The St. Louis Metropolitan area is Charter's largest cable operation and having a team here with focus, leadership, and a true commitment to our St. Louis area customers and this community is a high priority.”
Mr. Wilson will be based in St. Louis with overall responsibility for all the Metropolitan St. Louis operations serving some 500,000 customers.
Mr. Wilson has more than 30 years experience in the telecommunications industry, most of it spent in cable. He joins Charter after three years as Chief Executive Officer of United Pan-European Communications in Amsterdam. Over the past three decades, he held senior operations positions with telecommunications and cable companies including Time Warner Cable, Cablevision Industries and Cox Communications, Inc.
Barry Wilson received his Bachelor of Science degree Magna cum Laude from Regis University, Denver, CO in 1986 and his MBA from Tulane University, New Orleans, LA in 1989. He has served on the boards of both North and South Carolina Cable Television Associations and a number of civic and charitable organizations.
Ms. Clayton also announced the appointment of David L. Gilles as Vice President/General Manager for Charter's St. Louis Metro area.

Mr. Gilles joined Charter three years ago as Vice President of Fiscal Operations in Michigan where he was instrumental in assembling the regional staff. He came to St. Louis when he was named Vice President of Fiscal Operations for Charter's former Central Region. Prior to joining Charter, Mr. Gilles directed physician compensation and federal taxation for Saint Francis Health System in Tulsa, OK. He began his career with a former Big Eight accounting firm in St. Louis in 1989 and later became a principal in a regional financial services firm also based in St. Louis.
An Illinois native, Mr. Gilles is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Illinois State University with a B.S. degree in finance.
